In addition to acting as director of the Hyperhidrosis Center of Excellence, Dr. Ali Mahtabifard is board-certified in both general and cardiothoracic surgery. He also has training in advanced surgical care of hyperhidrosis and comprehensive management. Dr. Mahtabifard has additional experience in minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer, chest wall disorders, emphysema, and esophageal disorders.
Committed to offering his patients the highest quality care, Dr. Mahtabifard prides himself on providing thoracoscopic sympathectomy, the most advanced and effective treatment for excessive sweating. He has used his renowned skill in thoracic surgery to educate other physicians and medical students by contributing to a best selling textbook on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including a chapter on hyperhidrosis. Dr. Mahtabifard’s has also published new research in a variety of peer-reviewed journals. These include the Journal of Immunotherapy, the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Molecular Therapy, Clinical Cancer Research, Human Gene Therapy, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery Clinics. He has also participated in a medical textbook called “Atlas of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (VATS)”, which has become a leading resource for thoracic surgeons around the world.
Dr. Mahtabifard attended the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He then achieved a medical degree from New York Medical College. After attaining his medical degree, Dr. Mahtabifard completed a general surgery internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York. He then pursued a general surgery residency at Harvard University’s prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. While completing this residency, Dr. Mahtabifard also participated in a two-year thoracic oncology research fellowship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. After this he underwent a cardiothoracic fellowship at the University of California at Davis. Once this cardiothoracic fellowship was completed, he went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a fellowship in advanced and minimally invasive thoracic surgery.

Clark B. Fuller, MD, Thoracic Surgery
Dr. Clark Fuller is board-certified thoracic surgeon in Los Angeles with special experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He has expertise in hyperhidrosis, esophageal cancer and motility disorders, lung cancer therapy and screening, chest wall tumors, and more. Dr. Fuller participates in major oncologic clinical trial groups. He is also as a medical consultant for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Early Detection of Lung Cancer Project.
In addition to sitting as an adjunct faculty member at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, Dr. Fuller has also written many thoracic surgery articles and chapters for thoracic surgery textbooks. His an active participant in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons as well as a staff member at at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Fuller attended the University of Wyoming where he received a bachelor’s degree. He then attended medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After earning his medical degree, he completed a general surgery residency at the University of Missouri, a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Fuller then pursued additional specialty training through an Esophageal Surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California. Finally he completed a Thoracic Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Texas’s MD Anderson Cancer Center.
